to park (2008-2010)

Picture
"Parking is an action to organise space.
I like to imagine it as similar to the action of choreographing.
I want to start with the idea of creating communities by putting things in the correct place and later play, together with the audience, on their displacement and re-contextualisation."
The installation/performance after "Democratic Forest" is set as a closed system: the movement of the audience triggers the choreography. The performers can see the audience from two TV screens and follow a score related to the movement in space and the gesture of the spectator. The score is based on the idea of copy and de-contextualization. The pattern for the choreography is not given from a leader, a director.

Performing: Dominik Tony Daggelinckx, Olivier Debaecker, Severine van der Stighelen, Erik Heestermans, Sungmin Hong, Dries Malfet, Michiel Reynaert, Valerie Rousseau, Annemie Smits, Renate Spee, Jos Sterckx, Jef Stevens, Fanny Zaman.
Techniques: Christophe Engels.
Costumes: Hadas Cna'ani.
