WICKED TECHNOLOGY/ WILD FERMENTATION (2019-20)
is a project considering ethics and aesthetics of fermentation in relation to artistic research.
Sampling, queering, transferring a prototype, feeding, inoculating, oxygenating, composting, tasting are processes involved in live cultures.
Fermentation techniques challenge ideas of transformation, cannibalism, wildness, exuberance, excess, noise, opacity, death.
With this research, I would like to create a space for doing thinking with experts and fearless amateurs.
The aim is to produce knowledgeable experience for artistic practices.
In collaboration with kcBUDA, constant vzw, a.pass Research Center, Otark productions, Fahrenheit 451 House, Les Ateliers Claus, QO-2 and Hotel Amazonas. Thanks to Eriks Asmanis, Ferran Mesa Turo and Christophe Albertijn. With the support of the Vlaamse Overheid.
